There are very few prerequisites you’ll need to get the most out of this book. In fact, there’s nothing stopping you from reading the book without installing DB2 and trying the examples. But I’ll take a wild guess that you want to do that, so you’ll need a computer with a supported Linux distribution, such as CentOS, OpenSuSE, or the like; or Microsoft Windows XP or Vista.
